BREAKING NEWS ON WIND TURBINES. !!!!

CAWTILE- CITIZENS AGAINST WIND TURBINES IN LAKE ERIE  has some exciting  BREAKING NEWS and pleased to announce that   

 the Erie County Legislature passed a resolution Opposing wind turbines in Lake Erie  TODAY at the legislative session , with a vote of 10 to 1.   CAWTILE IS PLEASED   with the leadership standing together in consensus  to protect Lake Erie , our Residents of Erie County and our environment !

CAWTILE is hoping that you would  announce this today on your show, as you have spoken out frequently with members of Cawtile , Sharen Trembath, Dave Adrian,  Patti Meckes  and Jim Hanley.  As you have mentioned  frequently  that “The Princess” has  lakefront property and we know that she will be so happy to hear this announcement!

CAWTILE  thanks you for ALL the positive support  over the last few years !   As you know, the main focus is protecting our drinking water from contamination and our environment , Protecting the fish we eat, and the birds who are in a migratory zone. Also, protecting our future of Buffalo and Erie county tourism  and lake cruises .

Fort Drum eyed as site for nuc plant

  FORT DRUM, New York (WWNY) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has determined a small nuclear reactor would be “the optimal option” to supply Fort Drum’s energy needs. Governor Hochul and state officials met with Fort Drum officials and discussed the possibility of locating a “small modular reactor” on Drum when the governor visited Drum in August, 7 News learned. If a “small modular reactor” (SMR) is successful on Drum, additional reactors might be deployed throughout the state to help New York meet its renewable energy goals. Small modular reactors are, as their name suggests,  much smaller than traditional nuclear reactors, like the ones near Oswego . They also incorporate newer generations of nuclear technology. Proponents argue they are safer and far less costly than traditional nuclear plants. Drum needs about 60 megawatts of power. Why Spain’s Rooftop Solar Owners Weren’t Spared From the Blackout

  When the electricity  suddenly went out in Spain  on Monday, Irene Casas and her husband Luis Morate, who live in an apartment building in a Madrid suburb, lost power along with everyone else. That’s despite the fact that they, along with their neighbors,  own a source of electricity : 200 rooftop solar panels installed at the end of 2023. The panels didn’t help them ride out the blackout because they are connected directly to the grid. Each co-owner, including Casas and Morate and their neighbors, gets a discount on their utility bill in exchange for the power they put into the electricity network, but the panels themselves don’t directly supply their apartments with energy. Casas and Morate’s experience goes against what many people would consider conventional wisdom: Solar on your roof provides energy independence.
